Artist Floor Talk: Kate Gane

WAG invites you to attend a floor talk by artist Kate Gane for her exhibition ‘Bodies of Conflict’. At this talk, Kate will discuss her approach to art making and how her art has been informed by her experiences of breast cancer.

Kate Gane

Kate Gane is an accomplished South-West Victoria artist who has shown her work in number group and solo exhibitions including at the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne and Sherwood Gallery, Deakin University, the Abbottsford Convent and Toei Studios, Kyoto, Japan.

In 1998, Kate’s experimental all-girl band Tukan Sam was ‘unearthed’ by radio station Triple J, which led to the band producing an independent album Little Miss and video clip for their song Let's Swing. Little Miss was featured on radio ABC National and Regional, Triple J, RRR and PBS.

Gane holds a Diploma of Digital Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy, Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts) from Deakin University and a Master of Transnational Arts from the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne University.
