Saturday, 11 December 2021 to Sunday, 29 May 2022
Permanent Collection

From the sublime forests of 18th Century Europe to the unforgiving antipodean bush, artists have created varied responses to the natural landscape, over time. This selection of works from the WAG Collection features images of wild, natural scrub, through to works monitoring human intervention in the environment — tamed and organised farmlands, and historic works such as Eugene von Guérard’s iconic 1855 depiction of Tower Hill, which guided a major re-vegetation program of the South West Victorian volcanic landscape in the 1960s.
