Teacher Professional Development

Building Expertise in Using Video Games in the Classroom

Led by ACMI

Calling all teachers

Are you keen to bring fresh and engaging, curriculum-focused, real-world learning to the classroom? Join a new Victoria-wide network to help develop teaching and learning resources to activate the untapped potential of videogames in the classroom. Game Lessons is designed to support teachers to create, access and share well-designed lesson plans for impactful and meaningful learning experiences.

ACMI is pleased to offer you the chance to be a founding participant in the new videogame-centred project Game Lessons. Begin by participating in a Game Lessons Professional Development Day where you can build on and share your expertise. Employing a Community of Practice approach, Game Lessons provides expert support, resources and professional learning networks and fosters a cross-disciplinary learning community, building capacity to deliver more effective teaching and learning programs.

Teachers please note - you don’t need to be ‘a gamer’ to engage with the opportunities videogames offer for learning across the curriculum.

9.30 – 2.30pm Thursday 30 August
