Teacher Professional Development

The National Gallery of Victoria’s ‘Primary School Philosothon’ professional learning program for Primary School Teachers will be visiting Warrnambool Art Gallery on Friday 2nd of June from 9-12:30pm. This is an exciting opportunity to learn how to use Visual Art as stimulus for developing the Victorian Curriculum Critical and Creative Thinking and Ethical Capabilities.

As outlined on the NGV website, this FREE professional learning program for Primary School Teachers will:

  • Explore the critical and creative thinking strategies developed through the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) Victorian Primary School Philosothon
  • Demonstrate ways of using art to analyse and evaluate ethical issues
  • Model a Community of Inquiry
  • Present ways of developing a Philosothon at an Art Gallery in your region
  • Introduce the 2017 NGV exhibition Love: Art of Emotion 1400–1800 and showcase related art activities
