The Warrnambool Art Gallery collection began in 1886 with a donation of museums curios, and has now grown to include a substantial collection of Australian art spanning from European colonisation to contemporary works of art. It includes significant range of colonial paintings, a strong representation of works on paper, including modern and contemporary works alongside a thoughtful selection of textiles, ceramics, sculpture and installations. Warrnambool Art Gallery is also the custodian of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artefacts, contemporary cultural material and works of art.
We currently have a small selection of the collection available online, but we are regularly adding more works, through research and documentation.
