Lake Pertobe Studio III Launch

event date:
Friday, 17 November 2017 - 5:00pm

Warrnambool Art Gallery and Director Vanessa Gerrans welcomes you to the launch of:

Lake Pertobe Studio III

This is the third iteration of a studio that draws focus on material language within the Western district of regional Victoria. The interest lies in uncovering the value of site through investigation of local archaeologies. By means of a parallel investigation of local tectonics and site histories we aim to tease out vestigial narratives that give us agency to develop a strategic brief to engage with the Lake Pertobe Reserve. This studio aims to draw on this idea of activation of regional centres, and consider alternative ways we can utilise these spaces in a way that contributes to the local, and broader community.

This semester the students have proposed a pavilion to be sites within the Lake Pertobe precinct. These project are rich in the fabric of place. Architectural plans and models will be on display at the Gallery. Project by RMIT Architecture students completed in a design studio led by Nic Agius and Claire Scorpo.
