Celebrating our local surrounds as a destination location over the winter period of 2022; using all the raw beauty of the region to inspire and create wonder. Into the Wild is like a Wunderkammer, taking us into the collection and the objects that remind us of the full expression of our natures from curiosities to craftsmanship, oddities to our animal forces. The exhibition will feature major works including the renowned historical painting of Tower Hill (the State’s first national park and most remarkable geological formation) by artist Eugene von Guérard, and leading contemporary examples of anthropomorphic and hyper-realistic sculpture by Sam Jinks, too representations of the many other significant Aboriginal cultural landscapes including Moyjil and Budj Bim (Australia’s 20th World heritage site and the world’s largest aquaculture system).
