Designed to support VCE Art Making & exhibiting students, this session explores The Regional, a contemporary commissioning platform established by the Warrnambool Art Gallery to support ambitious new works by five leading Australian artists: Atlanta Eke, Gus Franklin, Paul McCann, Bronwyn Razem, and Peter Tyndall. Through their practice, these artists directly engage with the economic, political, cultural and artistic complexities of the regional, remote and rural Australian experience.
This session will explore the creative development, curatorial practices, exhibition design and the processes behind developing an exhibition and working in a gallery environment.
